I attended David Suzuki's "The Legacy" Lecture <3
I'm a nerd, I know... And I'm damn proud of it~!

But I'm really happy that I had the privilege to have had attended David Suzuki's lecture. Even more happily that I was able to lecture record his presentation <3 *pats her lecture recorder lovingly*

Growing up, I did projects about him in school when I was asked who my role model was. And till this day, he still is a major role model for me. I grew up watching his documentary television shows "The Nature of Things" and I still try to watch his documentaries when I'm not killed by my school work load...

He even autographed my two books for me~! *sorry for the blurry pictures, I was trying not to flail too much*

These are my two signed books <3 The one on the left is from his newest book "The Legacy" and the one on the right (with the butterfly) is his "You Are the Earth" book~!

Here's the lecture recording of his appearance that I attended for those who are interested. Since McGill University is situated in Canada, he does address some things within Canada *coughs*likeourPrimeMinister*coughs*

(Please do NOT Reupload or Online Stream~!)

It was the best lecture that I ever had in my life~! It was a really fun lecture and the jokes were amazing <3

Just a note, the beginning of the recording is the woman introducing David Suzuki and then afterwards, we watched a trailer for the upcoming of Suzuki's movie "Force of Nature" that is to be released on October 1st (Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa) and October 15th (Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Vancouver, Victoria, and Winnipeg).

For the first two weeks of the release, every dollar from the ticket will be sent to David Suzuki Foundation where they will use the money to help find solutions to our growing crisis of global climate change!

I believe he came to Concordia as well, or will be attending Concordia. Ah, so cool. Which book is that?

I think you've misread the information about him going to Concordia.

He has not and will not be giving a guest lecture at Concordia ^^;; McGill University was the only one in Montreal that he went to <3 *proud to be a McGillian*

He's supposed to be attending Toronto, so unless Concordia is in Toronto, he won't be going there ^^;;

He signed my two books~! <3 His most recent work "The Legacy" and another book titled as "You Are the Earth" <3

It said so in my agenda. On September 28th, he would be giving a lecture in the H building-- which was yesterday and I don't have school on Tuesday.

In other news, when can I see you so I can give you your belated birthday present? Which also reminds me, have you asked your teacher which Japanese-English dictionary is suitable for your class-- unless you already bought it?

Oh, and don't take my comment on my post the wrong way. I'm not mad, and to be honest, I felt kind of bad after when I read what I wrote.
corlee1289: Monster with clockscorlee1289 on September 29th, 2010 01:54 am (UTC)
Maybe it was a misprint? I just checked the Concordia website and there was no mention of him anywhere and there isn't one on the official David Suzuki website...

Eto, I should be available for a meet-up after the sixth of October ^^;; Gomen nasai, I have a midterm and an essay due hence why I can't meet up earlier than that. In any case, there's that weekend where we're sleeping over at Tessa's house on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th. (We're going to the Lantern Festival and LaRonde)

In terms of the Japanese-English dictionary, I've already purchased it since I couldn't wait for you to get it for me, since I didn't know when you would be able to get it for me (financially). I bought it within the second day of Japanese class since it's gotten rather intensive with the language.

Which would therefore mean that you are now stuck with contemplating on what to get me for my birthday~! *cackles*

I think it must have been a misprint, else my professors would have said something about him attending. In any case, it's cool that he came to Montreal. Hurrah for awesome Canadians!

Well, since I called you earlier this evening, I'll send you my schedule (school wise), and we'll take it from there.

Ah, that's okay, and yes, I would need to think of something to get you. But I do have your wind-chimes, which means one gift down.
corlee1289: Monster GAO~!corlee1289 on September 30th, 2010 12:50 am (UTC)

Hurrah to us Canadians~! <3

I've sent you an e-mail regarding the Hallowe'en sleepover, so please go and check it out and see if it's okay with you for the dates (and activities).

Yaaaay~! You have last year's birthday present for me~! Now all you need to do is find another one for me within two months <3
suu9 on September 30th, 2010 01:40 am (UTC)
I'll get back to you on the email later this evening or tomorrow.

Yes... I refrain from buying you books because you seem to have them all, and the books I generally get are about art or Vampire Hunter D... so that's a no-go for you. Ooh! I think I know which book you don't have and I can get for you... and if you do have, you'll have two copies since Corrine likes to have two copies of everything!
corlee1289: Monster Tick Tockcorlee1289 on September 30th, 2010 01:44 am (UTC)

That is so true~! Or if I don't have a book, usually you would know whether or not if I had it XD

I laughed at what you said about getting me a book that you think that I might not have... What happens if I have the book and have already purchased two copies of them? Would that therefore mean that I would have three copies of the same book?

Another reason why I have a post of my inventory of mangas <3
suu9 on September 30th, 2010 01:46 pm (UTC)
Ahh-- but it is not a manga.

You're university also has super slow Wi-Fi?! *bursts out laughing* McGill's Wi-Fi is usually faster than the one that I have at my house... And you already know how fast my internet speed at home is XD

I think MU is being finicky, I can't download anything via MU from their link site (after I click download). So I've been using MegaManager for the time being <3
showjuro: step and go gifshowjuro on September 30th, 2010 12:53 am (UTC)
the wifi here is even slower than the one in the mall next to my uni! (but they are owned by the same company)
Bahhhhhh... you always have your superior internet wherever you go!

oooh... it worked for me yesterday, but only your link here didn't work T.T

(needs to rant: shit, i really cannot watch ans in a quite uni library!)
corlee1289: Kaibutsu-kun Jun Elf Wink *dies*corlee1289 on September 30th, 2010 12:56 am (UTC)

It's true, us Canadians have faster and superior internet *bricked*

And you definitely shouldn't watch AnS in a quiet library!! It doesn't work that way~! You'll burst out laughing!! Plus, that would be rather rude of you for those who are going to the library to study!!
showjuro: rockstarshowjuro on September 30th, 2010 01:00 am (UTC)
I'm already smiling here, trying hard to keep my bursts of laughter from polluting the quietness of the library!

And my connection is so bad that I can't even stay logged into msn!
